work, bikin' in da snow, pops in town, bball, shinenkai & draft
work
work has been pretty hectic lately with the deadline for the 8th grade diary contest due this week. i must've read, corrected, reread, recorrected like 15 or so diaries. with classes almost all day and vball practice, i've been at school til like 1900+ almost everyday. we also have a demonstration lesson for my boss from city hall on monday, so this week is also gonna be hectice, preparin' for that. guess i'm gonna miss watchin' the superbowl ;(
had my elementary school yesterday. classes went ok, i sometimes forget that i'm teachin' such young kids and that i need to be really, really basic. i had lunch with 4-2 and since i had this mad kink in my neck and shoulders, funabashi sensei called this one girl over and she started to massage my neck. at first, i was like ok, whatever. i'll make this little girl happy and pretend that she's doin' a good job but OMG, this girl was a professional. no joke, yo! probably has stronger hands than most high school girls. funabashi sensei told me that her mom is a certified masseuse.
lately for vball, the 7th graders scrimmage against the 8th graders. today, the 7th graders almost won the match. even though i was the librero for them, i barely did anything. i was totally proud of my 7th graders. unfortunately, i was pissed @ my 8th graders for just barely winnin'. boy, ya should of seen toita sensei get in the 8th grade girls faces. i think they'll do ok this weekend in the 7th grade vball tournament.
bikin' da snow
as i woke up the other day, it was pretty cold. i looked outside and it was sprinklin' a bit. after i ate breakfast, showered, did some computer stuff and got ready, when i headed out, it was frickin' snowin'!?! though there wasn't any snow on the ground, while goin' to school, the snow was quite a flurry. i think my face froze that day...
pops in town
so pops came into town on friday. got a call pretty early from on saturday morning. went out to the hotel to pick up all the goodies he brought for me. was able to see setsu & ray as well as meet the mayor of hayward.
bball
went to play bball and was crampin' up in the first 5x5 game!?! i couldn't believe that. the peripheral vision is fine but my depth perception is totally off. all in all, our team didn't do as well as the last time i played. we didn't move w/o the ball as much and took way too many j's.
shinnenkai
after bball, b.kobo had another party at his place. in december, it was an end of the year party. this time, was a new year's party. we met up with kanami, yumi and jimmy in 'buya, then headed out to kawasaki. we were told to pick up some more beer, ice and some tonic. luckily for us, we saw eddie @ the liquor store, so he gave us a ride to the house in his dope ass car. there were tons of peeps there. good ratio too, about 2.5-3 to 1. only got to mingle a little bit. met this one girl who grew up in london, then moved to south africa. it's always weird to hear a japanese girl who can speak english fluently in queen's english. also met this one girl from okinawa, who does dvd translation of rap documentaries for likes of e40, etc... i was told by b that we're headin' out since kanami and yumi had to head back. i was like, man, i'm just gettin' started here. but since b is my big bro and i'm crashin' @ his place, i had no choice. anyways...i hear there's gonna be another party in feb. all good...
nba mid season draft
was the interim gm for rick in the 19 team, $800 1st place nba fantasy league. we got to keep 4 keepers, so if you do the math, that's about 76 players who are off limits from the get go. so you really need to do your research. i was pretty satisfied with my picks. our keepers were: franchise, rashard, j.terry and c.mihm. seein' how centers are a commoditiy, i picked up: dalembert and przybilla. i also drafted e.griffin and damon jones and shortly thereafter r.evans, j.kapono, t.allen, j.childress while roundin' out the roster w/d.songalia & ja.collins. though it took like 4 hours for the draft, it was koo just bein' in a "world" draft. it was also koo just to chill and talk shiet with all the guys i play bball with.
in da news...
