it's been a while since the last update. was super busy with stew & joaquin in town. i think that they broke the record for stuff done in such a short amount of time. in the span of 5 days we:
- went to cha cha
- sensonji shrine
- had lunch @ kaoru's restaurant
- akihabara
- harajuku
- omotensando
- shibuya
- had my bday party w/kaoru, ikko, yoshi, b, ricky, jt & ko
- crazy experience on the way back home from that
- went all da way to see mt. fuji
- fujiykyuu highland amusement park (where the world's fastest roller coaster is)
- ate some ten udon
- the next day, the headed to kyoto & nara by themselves while i met up with b, steve, eug, satomi and her friends for dinner
- they came back the next day and b took us to dinner in shimokitazawa at this bomb ass hiroshima style okonomiyaki
- then we met up with: kaoru, yoshi, ikko & aki @ this okinawan restaurant in 'pongi
- then headed over to muse (the club we usually take peeps who are visitin')
- pretty much sang karaoke & danced all night long, met some peeps from canada and these 2 local chicks
- did some last minute shoppin'
- ate our last lunch together
- joaquin lost his wallet!?!
- they headed home
as you can see, we fit in a lot of stuff. i think i'm koo wit visitors for a while. it's mentally, physically as well wallet drainin'. but i just remembered that i do have another visitor comin', my pops... but with him, i don't have to take care of him. the only thing that i have to do is bring him to ikko for a dinner and then probably over to cha cha. he might be able to fit me into his busy schedule maybe a couple more times.
pops is comin' to japan for this big funabashi jazz festival with tennyson high school's jazz band. the mayor of hayward is even comin' out! tryin' to figure our the best time to have the dinner with pops, ray, setsu and all the exchange students that went hayward the past 13 or so years.
today, i gave a speech at this senior citizen university. there was about 100 senior citizens there! the most ppl i'd ever given a speech to. i was a little upset that ihato sensei (my boss) wasn't so clear on the level of english of these peeps. my boss said that i would have to speak "a little" japanese with my speech. what happened was that maybe 5 out of the 100 or so could understand what i was sayin'. so i had to restart from the beginnin' in pretty much 95% japanese. i had to throw out about 40% of my speech cuz i couldn't even try to translate it. luckily for me, there was this one man who i talked with durin' the intermission. found out that he taught he english to jhs and hs students for 48 years!!! so he kinda stood up in the front with me and translated the harder concepts in japanese for me. all in all, if i knew more of the level of my audience, i would've rated this higher. the kicker is that i didn't even get paid!?! but oh well, i got to leave school early.
omg, mikie just came up to me in this coffee shop that i'm typin' this at right now. she told me that jun-chan is gettin' married in march and na-chan is gettin' married in april!?! i knew bout na-chan but i had idea bout jun-chan. craziness yo...
