Got to Shibuya @ around 1530ish...a little late but it turned out that it didn't really matter, cuz Yu's old college's, Aoyama Gakuin, festival was sorta canceled due to the rain. We met up with Kaori and her friend from Thailand whose studyin' in Hayward. We chilled at a coffee shop and talked for a bit. Pronto, a cafe @ around 1700ish, turns into a cafe/pub, the lights dim a bit and there's no non-smokin' sections. We left before we could see it turn into a full pub. Kaori was intrigued by this and went to ask what exactly happens when they turn into a pub. She returned and told us that the coffee machines get covered by doors and these other doors open up with all the alcohol. Even the menu flips around to show the alcoholic drinks. Only in Japan.

Afterwards, we headed to Shibuya and on the way, we saw Yu's old college in a school parade, with cheerleaders and a marching band. Kinda weird to see that in the streets of Tokyo. We got to main part of Shibuya and parted ways with Kaori and her friend. Yu and I then headed to Freshness burger cuz I wanted to grab a snack before dinner. I tried the new Spam sandwich and I must say, that it was pretty good. They had a special sauce along with a fried egg on tasty bread. Hmm hmmmm hmmmmmmmmm. After I grubbed, Yu needed to find a birthday gift for A-chan. At first, he couldn't find anything good, but in the end, he found this nice candle which was pretty dope. We met up with one of Yu's friends, Hide (a DJ), and then headed to the restaurant. While Yu and Hide were on their phones tryin' to get a hold of everyone and to make sure that they knew where the restaurant is, I was just chillin' and people watchin'. Hide and Yu pointed out this one dude being carried by like 4 of his friends. This guy was OVER. When 1900 came around, we just went in and got a drink while waiting for the other people to arrive. The next person to arrive was Seiko (reggae dancer). The next peeps to arrive were Setochi (MC) and A-chan (manager). The restaurant we went to only served chicken. But all the dishes were really good. Since A-chan wanted to practice english, we made a deal that she has to talk to me in English, while I talk to her in only Japanese. Unfortunately, she didn't get too much practice in since it was her birthday and she was matchin' me drink for drink. Ayuchi (graphic designer/flyer designer) came through. Hide, Setochi and Seiko were pretty funny when they spoke to me. A tiny bit of English with a lot of Japanese. The next person to arrive was Makiko whom I met at the flea market 2 months ago. Then Kotomi (a nurse) arrived and after awhile, toasting each time someone new comes, started to take it's toll. A-chan introduced me to this sho chu from Hokkaido that I've never had before. I think the name was tantakatan which was hella smooth. Had one with water and another with oolong tea. Some MORE people started to come: Hanzo (DJ or MC), Darisan (DJ or MC), Daichi (DJ or MC) & Noriko (photographer). Of course they all came at different times which made it hard to remember whether they were a DJ or MC or a hype man. Around this time, Hanzo brought out his DV Cam and I saw Seiko watching some video on screen. She told me to come check it out. As I watching it, it looked like a performance of some kind. She then tells me that she's coming out to perform. I only have one word for what she showed me...DADADAAAAAMMMMNNNN!!! I had to confirm with Yu (who was pretty buzzed at the time) that this is same girl in the video. After we had all the yakitori and small stuff, we ordered sukiyaki and miso ramen. It was interesting to meet Yu's friends in a laid back, chill environment. When we left the restaurant, we were almost at the station when I realized that I left my umbrella there. Yu told me just to forget it, you can get another one, but I was like nah man...that's my favorite umbrella. I was about to say ffff it, but Ayuchi volunteered to go back with me cuz I think she forgot her umbrella too. Well I want to thank Yu for always lookin' out and introducing me to his friends. It was good times fo sho!

Well...goin' to Shibuya for 4 days straight was kinda crazy. Not as bad as I once thought earlier. But I'm still gonna take a break from it until we play ball next Sunday.

Well today it was back to the grind. Thank god I only had to teach 2 classes. Went to the dentist, I'm finally have one more appointment left. Ate some dinner, chatted up a bit, installed some virus software on my desktop and notebook. Had some problems with my notebook not connecting to the internet. Not sure what the problem is, but somehow it fixed itself. Watched my tv shows which was totally hilarious. A new twist to the London Hearts show.

Another day @ school. I forgot my notebook @ my apt! Arrrgghhh!!! Oh wellz... Played ball after school for a bit. Gotta get in shape. The J was off at first, but once I got warmed up, everything was fallin'! Met up with Daisuke for dinner @ Kita Narashino. Had some grubbin' food and I can't believe we killed a whole big bottle of Kagoshima sho chu! Never done that before. Came home and instantly crashed out.

It was raining this morning so it made my commute to school a little difficult. Got to school and had to start doin' research about whales. I'm speakin' @ Tsuboi junior high tomorrow and the topic is about whales. After doin' some research, I actually found out some interesting stuff about the whales, whaling and how Japan is finding loopholes to get whales for food. We had special student teachers, 8th graders, as guest teachers in the 7th grade classes. I was surprised to see Tanaka kun as Takahashi sensei's assistant. I never saw Tanaka kun so calm, quiet and reserved ever! He was actually professional! Something that doesn't even come close to describe how he is in class!! I gots to clean up the apt a bit cuz Hide and Kaoru are coming over tomorrow night. Going to see Matrix Revolutions tonite with Yu's family. Spoke to Don today and he said that it sucked @$$!!! Spoke to Tri and he said it was ok. But kinda wack in some places. Got an email from Rick about another one of his buddies, who ross and michelle know from college is heading out, so he officially called me out next Friday night. Here are some pics from last weekend. Gosh...I'm plannin' on seeing Yu perform on Tuesday night which will be an all nighter, followed up by Friday night. Man...Tokyo life is no joke, yo!!! Also got my books from Amazon in...2 weeks early! Gonna start up Count Zero by William Gibson. Wellz...gonna wrap this up.

Kaz out...
