had dinner with mikie @ ikko. wasn't expectin' a call from pops so soon, but he came all the way back from katsuura @ around 1930ish. so we went to go meet him @ tsudanuma station and then bring him back to yakuendai. first took pops to serenade and after that we went to cha cha. @ cha cha, mi-chan was a little bit drunk so it was good to see her like her old self. next thing i know, it's 0330 and mama called yoshi to come pick us up and take us home. when we got outside, it was snowin'!?! thank god for yoshi to take us back.
next day, slept in a tiny bit and then we headed to asakusa to eat @ kaoru's restaurant. had some ramen, pizza and of some dessert. chilled there for a while and then kaoru's dad took us to the shoppin' area of asakusa cuz dad had to get some dried shiitake for grandma. after that, he drove us to the station. it was still kinda early, so i asked pops what he wanted to do/see. he really didn't have anywhere to go, so i suggested roppongi hills cuz it's a pretty new place that he probably hasn't been to. chilled around roppongi hills and then came back to funabashi. came home and got ready for dinner @ ikko. mama was goin' to make us some sukiyaki. about half of the regulars came which was nice. nakamura sensei came after eatin' dinner and made the sukiyaki for us. sakamoto also came thru with his wife and youngest daughter. the other peeps that were there: shacho, junko san, ozaki san, kita san & kobi san. toita sensei came thru too as well as daisuke. it was good to see him and catch up. we all sang songs and since mori san wasn't there, mama and i sang our duet and put kita's name in it. after tons of sho chu, we (pops, sakamoto, toita sensei and i) headed to serenade to meet up with our other friends: yokoe san, shimizu san, nishimura san, mama, ito chan and mina chan. then there was more sho chu consumed and yokoe san even ordered 2 large dishes of sushi/sashimi for all of us even tho we were full. i was feelin' pretty tired and was ocassionaly dozin' off. next thing i know, it's around 0200 ish and we're gonna head home. this time we walked and it was sprinklin' a little bit. another long day/nite in da books.
the next day, actually got to sleep in a bit. went to shacho's house cuz he invited us over the nite b4, however i don't think: a. he remembered and/or b. he had a hangover. both seemed to be correct. we just had some tea, then he poured us some sho chu and we had some snacks while talkin' and watchin' some tv. afterwards, pops and i went to mos burger to eat lunch and then did a little shoppin' around that area. came home and took a little nap before goin' to tsudanuma to meet up with tomoyo for some coffee. we chilled and talked for a while and then we had to go to makuhari to visit the muraguchis for dinner. while waitin' for the train, i went to get a drink from the vendin' machine, as i'm walkin' back, i see dad talkin' to this couple. when i get closer, i notice that it's tomoyo's parents!?!
we got to makuhari in perfect time as ami got there the same time. she and sho had a vball game and they won, so sho went to the celebration party while ami came back to have dinner with us. i didn't want to tell mama that we didn't want to eat sukiyaki cuz we had it the day before but as expected, she had tons of sukiyaki prepared for us. dad brought some see's candy and i brought some coconut flavored peanuts from thailand. the whole can of peanuts was pretty much devoured while mama had to take away the see's candy from ami. as usual, hide had a bunch of new toys: a nokia world smart phone, a fully decked out 15" powerbook and tons of koo new software. headed home @ around 2200 ish and that would be the last time i'd see him.
i must say that dad kept up like a champ. i still sometimes forget that he's 68 yrs. old. but anyhow, it was a good 72 hrs. of father/son bondin'. i'll post da pics later.
this is finals week @ my jhs, so it's review for the whole week til wed.
today, had work @ my elementary school and my lesson rocked!!! was able to fit in 2 lessons into 1!!! my next and final lesson for my 5th & 6th graders should be fun.
